Abstract:
The levels of Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu were studied over a 3-year period in the fruit of red raspberry cvs Gradina, Krupna Dvoroda, Malling Exploit and Willamette and of 9 promising selections.
The contents were expressed as mg/kg dry matter.
The average content of iron ranged from 31 mg (selection 11/12) to 44 mg (Krupna Dvoroda). Manganese content ranged from 23 mg (Willamette, Krupna Dvoroda) to 55 mg (selection II/12). Zinc content was considerably lower as compared to Fe or Mn and it varied from 19 mg (Malling Exploit, selections I/2, II/12, II/14) to 26 mg (Willamette). Copper levels were very low, ranging from 5.6 mg (selection I/12) to 9.5 mg (Krupna Dvoroda). The average levels in the fruit of all cultivars and selections were as follows: iron 37 mg, manganese 41 mg, zinc 21 mg and copper 7.6 mg.
