ISHS Acta Horticulturae 261: IV International Symposium on Postharvest Physiology of Ornamental Plants

MEASUREMENT OF OPINIONS ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND KEEPING QUALITY OF ORNAMENTALS.

Authors:   A. Hoogerwerf, Frans C. Pladdet, M. M.J. Kempkes, Wouter G. van Doorn
Abstract:
A questionnaire on the relationship between environmental factors and the quality of cut flowers and potted plants was distributed among the attendants of the Fourth International Symposium on Postharvest Physiology of Ornamental Plants. The questionnaires on cutflowers and potted plants were returned by 36 and 15 persons respectively.

Two analysing methods were used, the self-explicated-weights model and the conjoint-measurement-model. Both gave the same results.

Opinions with regard to the effects of environmental factors differed little among the respondents, and are in agreement with the general literature, as far as available. There was also agreement about factors on which little literature is available.
