SYSTEM OF COMPUTER-AIDED FERTILIZER RECOMMENDATIONS (DS 87) IN FIELD VEGETABLE PRODUCTION IN THE GDR |

| Abstract:
The system of computer-aided fertilizer recommendations (DS 87) facilitates decision-making on the use of N, P, K, Mg, Ca and micronutrients (B, Cu, Mn, Mo, Zn) and organic manures for 33 field vegetables. Recommendations are given on the level and splitting of fertilizer doses, along with hints on the appropriate date and method of fertilization and the form of fertilizer to be used. In addition to the recommendations which have been drawn up on central mainframe computers for many years now, a total of 11 subprograms for use on microcomputers (8- and 16-bit) are offered for decentralized (on-farm) operation. Hence, calculations can be made right before fertilizer application. Field-specific files recording data of several years facilitate data acquisition. | |
