LOCATION OF FUNGICIDE RESIDUES IN POST-HARVEST TREATED CITRUS FRUITS |

| Abstract:
Citrus fruits are often attacked by several Micomicetes after its harvest. Decay losses for this reason are important. In order to control these Micomicetes the fruits are treated with fungicides. Consequently to these treatments on the fruits remain little quantities of the fungicide that is interesting to know: a) to inform the consumer and b) to orientate the future treatments. In this paper the residues content of O-phenyl phenol (OPP), Imazalil (IMZ) and Thiabendazole (TBZ) fungicides that remain on the citrus fruits (oranges and mandarines) are determined and their locations in different parts of the fruit are studied. The determination of OPP is carried out by spectrophotometry and the IMZ and TBZ by gas chromatography. The residues of these fungicides are located principally in the fruits peel; the contents in the fruit pulp are not significatives. | |
