ISHS Acta Horticulturae 253: IV International Symposium on Seed Research in Horticulture

OBTENTION OF SOMATIC EMBRYOS OF THREE SPECIES OF HORTICULTURAL INTEREST: ASPARAGUS, PEA AND LUPIN.

Authors:   B. DELBREIL, S. DESIRE, A. SAADI, Y. LE DEUNFF, M. JULLIEN
Abstract:
Somatic embryogenesis is a process of organogenesis which allows embryo, then seedling production, without gamete fusion. Somatic embryogenesis consists in two stages. Firstly, an induction stage produces embryogenic cells from calli plant tissue cultured in media with high concentration of growth regulators (principally auxins). Secondly, a development stage occurs where embryos, after transfer of induced calli into media without auxin, develop into seedlings.
