FURTHER STUDIES ON PEA SEED QUALITY AND SEEDLING EMERGENCE IN THE FIELD |

| Abstract:
The paper presents further results of the experiments carried out during the years 1984–1987 on possibility of predicting field emergence of pea on the basis of laboratory methods. It turned out that predicting emergence on the basis of seed evaluation with all laboratory methods failed. The results depended on meteorological conditions and seed quality. The least useful methods were electroconductivity and germination tests. Tetrazolium test produced better effects, particulary with the tetrazolium concentration of 1.0%. The results presented now are different from the earlier ones. | |
