ISHS Acta Horticulturae 251: III International Symposium on Growth Regulators in Ornamental Horticulture

THE EFFECT OF GIBBERELLIC ACID ON GROWTH AND FLOWERING OF SNAPDRAGON CUTTINGS

Authors:   J. Rak, J. Nowak
Abstract:
Rooted cuttings of two cultivars of snapdragon ‘Ulan’ and ‘Irena’ were treated with GA at following concentrations: 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500 mg 1-1 in order to lengthen the stems. All concentrations of GA increased plant height in the case of ‘Ulan’ plants. The plants of ‘Irena’ were not significantly affected by the application of GA. All plants began flowering simultaneously, including the control plants and neither flower shape nor color seemed to be affected by the treatments.
