| Abstract:
Paclobutrazol, the specific inhibitor of gibberellin biosynthesis, inhibited the germination of Amaranthus paniculatus L. seeds, and this effect was reversed by gibberellin A3 (GA3) and ethephon (2-chloroethylphosphonic acid). It is suggested that endogenous gibberellins are required for the germination of these seeds and the effect of GA3 can be mimicked by ethylene released from ethephon. | |
