ISHS Acta Horticulturae 251: III International Symposium on Growth Regulators in Ornamental Horticulture

LIGHT AND GROWTH REGULATORS IN THE CUTTINGS PRODUCTION OF POINSETTIA /EUPHORBIA PULCHERRIMA/ MOTHER PLANTS

Authors:   W. Witaszek, K. Mynett
Abstract:
Long-day conditions given in the winter-and early spring time to the mother plants of poinsettia /Euphorbia pulcherrima/ resulted in a significantly higher number of cuttings, even three times higher when compared to the control plants.

When supplementary in long day conditions mother plants of poinsettia were sprayed with benzyladenine in concentrations up to 500 mg/l, the number of additional harvested cuttings increased 10–20 %.
