GIBBERELLIC ACID REVERSAL OF THE INHIBITION OF AMARANTHUS CAUDATUS L. SEED GERMINATION BY (2-CHLOROETHYL)-TRIMETHYLAMMONIUM CHLORIDE AND ANCYMIDOL

Authors:   J. Kepczynski, J.S. Knypl
Abstract:
Plant growth retardants CCC [ (2-chloroethyl) trimethylammonium chloride] and ancymidol [alpha -cyclopropyl-alpha -(4-methoxyphenyl)-5-pyrimidine methanol] delayed germination of Amaranthus caudatus seeds. CCC was found to be 3,000-fold less active in comparison with ancymidol. Both types of inhibitions, due to application of CCC or ancymidol, were much reduced by gibberellic acid.
