Abstract:
Plant growth retardants CCC [ (2-chloroethyl) trimethylammonium chloride] and ancymidol [ -cyclopropyl- -(4-methoxyphenyl)-5-pyrimidine methanol] delayed germination of Amaranthus caudatus seeds.
CCC was found to be 3,000-fold less active in comparison with ancymidol.
Both types of inhibitions, due to application of CCC or ancymidol, were much reduced by gibberellic acid.
