REGENERATION FROM LEAVES OF DIONEA MUSCIPULA ELLIS CULTURED IN VITRO |

| Abstract:
Regeneration potential of the excised leaves of Dionea muscipula Ellis in in vitro culture has been investigated. It was noted that adventitious shoots and buds were mostly formed on the basal part of the petiole and the lamina as well as at the base and the apex of the trap part. Regeneration and organogenesis are effective when. they proceed on the basic RM medium. Enrichment of this medium with growth regulators accelerates and intensifies the regeneration. The 0.2 ppm dose of NAA plus 0.2 ppm dose of Kin proved to be exceptionally effective. The in vitro culture of Dionea muscipula can be used for mass propagation of this species. | |
