Abstract:
Germination "in vitro" of Lisianthus seeds allows to reduce the time to obtain the plants in condition to be transplanted in soil.
Germination percentage was 100% on Brooks and Hough medium (1958) additioned with GA3 and active charcoal.
A protocol of micropropagation is suggested for seedlings or explants taken from adult plants.
Multiplication rates ranged from 3.3 to 9.0, the rooting percentage from 84 to 100%.
Furthermore, a method to obtain successfully friable callus, cell culture and regenerations is suggested.
