| Abstract:
On behalf of the "Sonderforschungsbereich Bio-ökonomische Modelle" (Special Cooperation Project Bio-economic models) I warmly welcome you all. Thank you for coming to the Symposium on "Modelling plant growth, environmental control and farm management in protected cultivation". We are glad to meet old friends again, to win new friends, to exchange informations and to discuss problems of modelling. I hope you already feel well in Hannover. We will do our best to ensure your comfort and the efficiency of the symposium. The preparation and performance of this symposium is beeing kindly sponsored by some organizations.
May I first of all mention our university, the University of Hannover, the "International Society of Horticulture Sience", the "Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft", the "Deutsche Gartenbauwissenschaftliche Gesellschaft", the City of Hannover and last but not least the German factories which supplied us with some donations for your comfort.
