Abstract:
The response of A. vulgaris L., A. atrata (W.D.J. Koch) and A. chrysantha (A. gray) to protected cultivation conditions has been analyzed during two vegetative cycles.
Evaluation included agronomical, floriferousness and cultural aspects.
It has been observed that two possible limiting factors at the flowering stage are insufficient cold periods during the winter and the rhyzome's size at floral induction.
Low temperature treatments and growth regulator application can control the vegetative cycle and the ornamental aspects.
