INCIDENCE OF ROSE VIRUSES IN SPAIN

Authors:   M. Cambra, J.L. Martinez-Torres, M.J. Benaches, E. Camarasa, M.T. Gorris
Abstract:
Viruses affecting rose culture had not been sufficiently understood in Spain. The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, ELISA-DAS Technique was set up for diagnosing these viruses: Rose mosaic (RoMV), Prunus necrotic ring spot (PNRSV), Prune dwarf (PDV), Apple Mosaic (ApMV), Arabis mosaic (AMV) and Apple chlorotic leaf spot (CLSV), in young shoots of commercial rose varieties and rootstocks. Determinations on 4, 730 samples, representative of the most currently cultivated varieties and rootstocks, suggested that only PNRSV had a relatively significant importance.
