Abstract:
Time of planting of Hybrid Pinks has a large effect on the subsequent yield and gross return of the crop.
Four planting regimes were compared for the August-October period and again for the March-May period.
Planting early in both periods gave the best yields.
Higher densities of planting improved yields but reduced stem quality of the early planting treatments at the start of picking although subsequent quality was not affected.
