ISHS Acta Horticulturae 245: Engineering and Economic Aspects of Energy Saving in Protected Cultivation

UTILIZATION OF TERRESTRIAL HEAT RESOURCES TO DEVELOP FACILITY-HORTICULTURE IN NORTH CHINA

Authors:   Z. Xu, Z. Sun, H. Niu, H. Ni
Abstract:
Terrestrial heat resources are rich in China, and were discovered and utilized as early in Qin Dynasty, however, the utilizations were in small type and scattered condition. In the last few years, as terrestrial heat was utilized in protected cultivation, it has gradually aroused emphasis, yet many problems remain to be settled. In view of those problems, this article puts forward ideas about improvement of greenhouse structures, complex utilization of various kinds of energy resources and utilization of soilless cultivation in terrestrially heated greenhouses.
