Abstract:
The results of breeding programs in Chinese cabbage and yardlong beans are presented.
Breeding in Chinese cabbage was directed at improvement of bolting resistance, tipburn resistance and storeability.
Effects of temperature and genotype were predominant factors with respect to bolting.
In yardlong bean high yielding breeding lines of good quality were developed and released to private breeding firms.
