Abstract:
When 14C-labelled GA3 was applied to the flower or the shoot at the central node of flowering shoots of peach, most of the radioactivity remained around the treated node.
However, less than 2% moved acropetally at 80 to 160 mm/hr, a velocity typical of the movement of assimilates.
The flower showed a greater capacity to concentrate GA3 or its derivatives than did the shoot at the same node.
