Abstract:
When citrus roots (Satsuma mandarin trees on trifoliate orange rootstocks) were exposed to ethylene for a week, inhibition of photosynthesis was observed at 0.5 ppm and above ethylene, but not at 0.05 ppm.
The rate of recovery of photosynthetic activity following treatment with 5 ppm ethylene was slow compared with that following treatment with 0% oxygen + 20% carbon dioxide.
