Abstract:
Surveys in Italian lily cultivations with serious reduction of flower yield and quality revealed that cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) was more widespread than expected.
It was always found mixed with lily symptomless virus (LSV).
Lily isolate of CMV resulted biologically different from other CMV strains since it was unable to infect most cucumber varieties and difficult to isolate directly from lily tissue.
The virus was purified and an antiserum obtained.
