Abstract:
Advances that have occurred during the last three years in serological methods used in plant virology are described.
These include the preparation of monoclonal antibodies against several additional plant viruses, the use of ELISA for quantifying the degree of antigenic cross-reactivity between viruses, new antibody labelling methods, applications of immunoblotting and immunoelectron microscopy and the use of synthetic peptides for producing antipeptide antibody reagents able to cross react with proteins associated with viral infections.
