Abstract:
Research work carried out at CFTRI, Mysore on the packing and storage of mango products in different types of containers have been reviewed.
Mango products, such as nectar, juice, pulp and slices were packed in containers of tinplate, tinplate-tin free steel and flexible plastic pouches and the behaviour during storage is incorporated.
Factors responsible for corrosion of mango products in tinplate cans are highlighted.
Possible remedial measures to reduce corrosion have been suggested.
