ISHS Acta Horticulturae 230: Symposium on High Technology in Protected Cultivation

IMPROVEMENT OF THE HEATING SYSTEM CONTROL IN PROTECTED CULTIVATION

Author:   G. Ohara
Abstract:
The divergence of the greenhouse temperature (room temperature) from a set value under the heating condition caused the excess or the deficit of heating. The analysis with mathematical models showed that the divergence was caused by the overshoot in case of the hot-water heating system or by the change of heating load in case of the hot-air heating system. Therefore, improved methods for each heating system were discussed and developed.

The numerical simulation also showed that the dynamic characteristics of the heating system affected largely the greenhouse temperature and the heating load, and that the method considering the dynamics was necessary for the better design of the heating systems.
