Abstract:
Mechanization of tulip cultivation on clay and sandy-clay soils has progressed most with respect to the procedures of planting, flower removal and lifting.
Further mechanization of these field procedures can be expected soon.
Therefore, a change-over from traditional bed growing to growing on ridges will be necessary in most cases.
Mechanization of peeling must be seen as an important way to accomplish a further reduction in labour consumption.
