NARCISSUS EELWORM DITYLENCHUS DIPSACI: SOME ASPECTS OF ITS BIOLOGY AND CONTROL BY THIONAZIN |

| Abstract:
Very few eelworms are needed to set up infestation in narcissus, some of these possibly being survivors of hot-water treatment or of thionazin dips. Survivors of hot-water treatment are immediately able to increase in the plants, this increase being faster in the warmer last months of the growing season. Survivors of thionazin dips may return to the plant when the thionazin has disappeared, then, late-season invasion by eelworms occurs. This produces externally symptomless plants, and could lead to disastrous loss in stocks as such plants receive no further control treatment. | |
