| Abstract:
The decay caused by Penicillium corymbiferum, P. cyclopium and P. gladioli in bulbs or corms of several crops is reviewed. Until 1968 symptoms were thought to occur only after artificial damage; thereafter it was shown that P. corymbiferum can enter bulbous iris through wounds resulting from ruptures made by growing root tips. The occurring resistance of wounds depending on storage conditions is discussed. | |
