ISHS Acta Horticulturae 23: I International Symposium on Flowerbulbs

OBSERVATIONS ON SCLEROTINIA (BOTRYTIS) NARCISSICOLA GREG., THE CAUSE OF NARCISSUS SMOULDER IN NORTHERN SCOTLAND

Author:   E. G. Gray
Abstract:
Infection of narcissus bulbs with Sclerotinia narcissicola, the cause of smoulder, was not reduced by roguing combined with spraying with dichlofluanid or mancozeb, from emergence to senescence. Many infected bulbs escaped detection during grading. The production of smoulder lesions on foliage from infected bulbs was greater on heavy soils than on soils with good natural drainage.
