ISHS Acta Horticulturae 229: Symposium on Biological Aspects of Energy Saving in Protected Cultivation

PARTHENOCARPY AND AUXINIC TREATMENTS IN FRUITING OF TOMATO IN A COLD GREENHOUSE

Authors:   V. Lipari, A. Paratore
Abstract:
A study on the fruiting of a parthenocarpic cultivar was carried out. A widespread cropped hybrid was adopted as the control.

Results show that, without the auxinic treatment on the flowers, the parthenocarpic cultivar gives better results than the normal one, especially on the basal trusses.

Auxinic sprays were effective on the production of both types; however the normal cultivar was more productive with the treatment.
