Abstract:
The trial was carried out in an apricot orchard, established in 1981. Experimental plots consisted of three plants in six replications and treatments were: drip irrigated plants, spray irrigated plants and rainfed plants.
Results showed a greater size of the irrigated plants in comparison to the non irrigated ones.
Yield and fruit fresh weight improved both with water supply and system, with the greatest values being obtained with spray irrigation.
Fruit number per unit lenght of shoot was higher in the irrigated plants, particularly in the upper layer (50 cm) of the sprayer plots in relation to the canopy.
