Abstract:
On explants of two peach genotypes: the nectarine cv May Fair ad the semidwarf peach selection IF 7010200E, phloroglucinol, activated charcoal, light and temperature were tested as factors influencing the rooting ability.
The two genotypes showed a different response to the auxins (IAA, IBA and NAA): cv.
May Fair reacted to all three, while on the contrary the selection IF 7010200E reacted to IAA only.
The best results were obtained with one week of pretreatment at 5°C in the darkness.
The use of phloroglucinol and activated charcoal strongly inhibited rooting, even in the presence of the auxins.
