Abstract:
Gas-chromatographic analysis of the head-space inside culture jars containing shoots of Prunus Avium revealed that several volatile substances were released during tissue culture incubation.
The most important ones were ethylene, carbon dioxide, acetaldehyde and ethanol.
Their concentrations rapidly increased when carbon dioxide content exceeded 20% (about 15 days after incubation).
