Abstract:
Rooting of olive cuttings, collected at the beginning of November, treated with 1000 ppm IBA in talc and placed in perlite inside 6 plexiglas containers, was observed in 6 different basal temperature regimes.
No significant difference in rooting percentage was observed at the 50th day and at the 90th day.
At 50 days the highest rooting percentage (70%) was observed only with initial high temperature (30°C) for 15 days, followed by 25°C and 18°C for the remaining days.
The constant temperature of 25°C (usually used for propagation), gave only 34%. Treatment at 30°C for the first 20 days of rooting increased the number of roots per cutting.
