Abstract:
Several rooting factors (cutting type, temperature of the rooting bed, rooting medium and IBA treatments) were studied on sixteen cultivars of Taxus baccata, T. cuspidata, and T.media in a glasshouse under intermittent mist.
Highest percentage of rooting was obtained with apical cuttings and low (20° C) rooting bed temperature.
Cultivars differed in the final percentage of rooted cuttings, as well as in the time of rooting and in the response to IBA treatment.
IBA was generally only effective in increasing the speed of rooting.
