Abstract:
The studies pertaining to rooting and sprouting of stem cuttings of Citrus jambhiri Lush. were undertaken by using indole butyric acid (IBA) and cyclophosphamide (CP). The percentage of cuttings callused and the amount of callus per cutting were significantly higher in CP followed after one day by IBA, whereas, the percentage rooting was significantly higher in IBA followed by CP after seven days.
Moreover, the average number of roots per cutting, length and diameter of root and the percentage of buddable stocks were also significantly greater with IBA followed by CP after seven days in comparison to control and all other treatments.
In all the instances, the controls failed to root.
