CUT-ROSE PROPAGATION TECHNIQUES

Abstract:
Propagation methods for rose nursery plants as adopted in Japan are: 1. grafting desired cultivar scions onto dormant wild or selected R. multiflora or R. catheyensis scion (December-February), 2. budding onto rootstock (September-October), 3. cuttings from rockwool culture, 4. cutting-grafts under greenhouse condition using mist or double poly-ethylene tents (through out the year), 5. cutting-grafts for producing started eye outdoors (middle March-late March), or 6. grafting onto rootstock using the scion grown in the greenhouse with two five-leaflet leaves under mist (through out the year).
