Abstract:
The old chrysanthemum variety 'Blanche Poitevine Suprème,', that was selected as early as about 1900, is still of great significance for normal culture and pot plants production towards the end of October in CSSR.
When eradicating diseases from plants by way of meristem culture, the occurrence of fairly dissimilar types of plants was investigated.
From clone, that originated from primary material, the meristem tips were taken away and plants obtained after in vitro cultivation were retained as clones.
They were evaluated within two years and everlasting changes were found out.
The most changes were observed in size and shape of the leaves, flowers and inflorescences, in habit of the plants and in term of flowering.
No changes occured in colour of flowers.
A number of clones had a better quality than primary clone.
From selected dissimilar clones the meristem tips were taken away repeatedly.
The frequency of changes in clones from the second taking of meristem-tips was very low.
Not so high frequency of changes was, found in some other varieties evaluated in the same way ('Promenade', 'Snowdon', 'Bornholm', 'White Bouquet', 'Billy Boy').
