| Abstract:
Intensive work has been done on strawberry and raspberry breeding in Czechoslovakia in recent years. Breeding of strawberries is aimed at obtaining new cultivars suitable for hand picking and also cultivars with mechanical harvestability. High yield potential, spinelessness and autumn fruiting are the principal objectives of raspberry breeding. Besides combination crossings, the methods of influencing strawberry and raspberry plants by physical mutagenes are being tested. | |
