Abstract:
Marginal implicit prices for selected quality attributes that affect the price of tomatoes at the retail level were estimated.
Data on tomatoes moving through selected retail outlets during the spring of 1985 in Atlanta (GA) were collected.
A unique feature of this paper was the addition of a consumer-sensory panel evaluation of tomato quality characteristics, and it's incorporation in a hedonic price function.
