These nine publications of Acta Horticulturae together with this latest issue are an excellent documentation of the state and development of horticultural economics in different parts of the world.

In addition this latest issue gives a comprehensive overview on the problems of horticultural economics of the host country, Poland, which may be of particular interest for economics and horticulturalists in East and West.

It was a major experience for the participants of the symposium, that the exchange of scientific ideas and of scientists is an important contribution to good and peaceful relations between our countries. We have been overwhelmed by the warm and heartly hospitality of our hosts. We have to thank the representatives of our host country for their strong personal and financial involvement, which made the symposium and this publication possible and a good success.
