| Abstract:
For several reasons it is important to know the precise water requirements of plants. The method consists in measuring the evapotranspiration of the plant. This evapotranspiration is determined by several parameters that can be registrated by means of sensors connected with a computer. The continuously registrated values are needed to build up hydrological balances for the different plant species. One important parameter is not entered in this balance; i.e. the substrate. Especially its physical properties are determining for the uptake of water by the plant roots from the substrate. | |
