THE INFLUENCE OF THE IRRIGATION ON THE YIELD MASSES AND THE QUALITY OF TOMETOES AT DIFFERENT LEVELS OF NUTRIMENTS

Abstract:
Irrigation and fertilization are factors exercising mutual influence on each other. The efficiency of water application can be increased first of all through a rational supply of nutriments (Tisdale and Nelson, 1966).

Because of our climate the distribution of precipitation is unfavourable, so it is irrigation that ensures high and safe yields in the production of field tomatoes as well. Our average yields are 30–35 t/ha. The average yields must be increased, the needs of manufacturing industry must be satisfied because of its export orientation. Its realization is served first of all by expanding irrigation and the possibilities residing in the supply with nutriments.

In our research work we deal with the optimisation of the claim to water and nutriments of field tomatoes. In order to increase the qualitative and the quantitative parameters, we strive to work out a favourable supply with nutriments on the irrigated and non-irrigated fields alike. (We have been running our experiments since 1968).

In our plot experiments the irrigation is 30–40 percent, at a favourable supply with nutriments there was a 60–70 percents increase in the crop, compared to the unirrigated fields. In order to reach a high average yield, it is essential to raise the P-content of the soils. In the case of irrigation, the influence of the decrease in the refraction percentage could be moderated first of all by the joint treatment of farmyard manure and NPK-fertilizers.
