ON BIOLOGICAL REMOVAL OF NUTRIENTS WITH GREEN PEA YIELD

Authors:   V. Rankov, E. Uzunova
Abstract:
During the past years the removal of nutrients with the yield of agricultural crops is a subject of a great number of studies. There has been a rapid increase of the number of such studies on vegetable crops, too (Rankov et al., 1983). The grown interest to the latter is determined by the application of the results to optimizing fertilization of different crops.

The investigations on green pea along these lines are scanty (Balashov, 1977, Golonetov, 1975). It is well known that during the vegetation period the soil is enriched with 60 to 100 kg/ha of nitrogen due to the biological fixation (Balashov, 1977, Poshon, 1975). The amount of nitrogen fixed by green peas is probably less.

Our study aimed at establishing the removal of nutrients from the soil with the crop of green pea cultivars most widely cultivated in Bulgaria.
