MANAGEMENT OF BLACK ROT OF CABBAGE CAUSED BY XANTHOMONAS CAMPRESTIS PV. CAMPRESTIS IN KENYA

Author:   J.M. Onsando
Abstract:
The use of a grass mulch to reduce soil splash and, hence reduce secondary spread of black rot of cabbage was as effective as Cobox (50% Cu) in the management of the disease. Black plastic mulch, on the other hand, aggravated the disease. The use of a grass mulch also resulted in high yields. Though the increase in market value was not statistically significant, it was enhanced by the good physical appearance of the cabbage heads.
