ISHS Acta Horticulturae 216: III International Symposium on Carnation Culture

BIOLOGICAL CONTROL OF FUSARIUM WILT OF CARNATION

Author:   L. Orlikowski
Abstract:
Within 6 months of carnation growing in peat or composted pine bark, F. oxysporum f.sp. dianthi spread from one point to about 90% of the (FOD) plants growing on a bench 100 cm wide. In mixture of those substrates with loam or podsol soils, Fusarium wilt was observed in region 20–50 cm from infected point (26.8–38.4% of diseased plants). Addition of F. oxysporum, isolate TF3 to perlite or steamed substrates reduced population of Fod.
