| Abstract:
This paper lists the most common and important diseases of potatoes in Asia. Recent research developments on the three widely spread and destructive diseases namely, bacterial wilt, viruses and late blight are described in detail. Some priority areas for future developments are discussed, including the establishment of improved seed production. Breeding for resistance and utilization of existing resistant germplasm needs greater emphasis. Basic researches are likewise necessarily to be intensified particularly for bacterial wilt. | |
