EXPERIENCES AND PROBLEMS RELATED TO THE MICROPROPAGATION OF BLACK LOCUST |

| Abstract:
Black locust (Robinia pseudoacacia L.) breeding has been an important task of the Research Institute of Forestry, Budapest. In order to produce sufficient propagation material of the new varieties method of micropropagation has been worked out. Shoot tips of four new varieties were used as explants to start culture. After desinfection with 0,5 p.c. HgCl2 for 1 min. multiple shoot formation was induced on modified MS-medium supplemented with various concentrations of BAP (0,1 – 2,0 mgl-1) and adenine - sulfate (1–2 mgl-1). Multiplied shoots were subcultured to root to a low salt medium containing different concentrations of auxins. These rooted plantlets were transferred to pot in a green-house. Although plantlets could be potted and they are growing in the field the rate of rooting hasn't been satisfactory till now and has to be raised. | |
