APEX TISSUE CULTURE OF ALDER (ALNUS GLUTINOSA GAERTN). PRELIMINARY RESULTS |

| Abstract:
In order to micropropagate mature trees, apex tissue culture of Alnus glutinosa was tried. Seven-month-old, four-year-old and twenty year-old apices were used. They were cultured on different media. Strong variations in the explants behaviour were noticed according to their age, their physiological state and the composition of the media. Four-year-old apices cultured on a specific media led to small plantlets within three months. | |
