| Abstract:
Thin PVC Fiol Covering (TPFC) facilities water loss at high speed of in vitro plant cultures grown in plastic containers. Under usual laboratory conditions at 50 to 60 per cent relative humidity and 25° centigrade, weight loss of cultures amounts 15 to 20 per cent after four weeks, 50 to 60 per cent at the 6th, and 80 to 90 per cent at the 8th week of incubation. Under TPFC the rooted shoots of onion, from the fourth week on, developed a strong root system, leaves of high dry matter content and profuse was excretion on the surface. Transplantation of those hardened plants did not need acclimation. | |
