Abstract:
Minicuttings of Rose (cv.
Cosette), apple cultivars (Gravenstein and Tohoku) and apple rootstock M 26 taken from in vitro proliferated shoots were tested for their ability to produce adventitious roots with respect to different modes of initiation : Long initiation pretreatment (LIP) and Brief induction pretreatment (BIP). Different ways of penetration of IAA-2.14C have been experimented and allocation, as well as metabolism of this auxin, in the minicuttings have been studied.
Best results of rooting (rate of rooting, number of roots, absence of callus) were achieved through a brief induction pretreatment at the cut end of the cuttings with high IAA concentration.
